St. Anton am Arlberg is a combination of immediate skiing, winter holidaying, pristine snow slopes and top-class prepared pistes. This winter sport area in the Tyrol which is steeped in history has much more on offer in winter than is mentioned above. From idyllic winter and snow-shoe hikes, to culture – there’s a suitable sport or leisure activity to suit everybody.
The number one winter sport is of course skiing and it is exactly that which makes St. Anton the first choice when you are planning your winter holiday in the Tyrol. Alpine beauty, snow assuredness and excellent piste conditions are always guaranteed in am Arlberg. 85 of the most modern trains and lifts provide the highest standards in safety and comfort.
The Arlberg ski area is around 50 km² and there are over 260 km of prepared pistes. Skiiers will also find around 180 km of deep snow and névé snow downhill sections.

There are several ski schools in St. Anton helping everyone to achieve their skiing goal and to learn. Approachable, qualified ski instructors show you how to wedel over the pistes safely and with good technique<//span>.
Arlberg is also a paradise for snowboarders. Pristine powder snow slopes send every free-rider’s heart racing (Caution! Pay attention to avalanche warnings). A fun-park with 4 - 6 obstacles, pro jumps, ‘Washboard’, ‘Table Top’, slides, ‘Fun Box’ and much more are available for everybody to try. There are several Snowboard shops right in the town.
Cross-country skiing and Nordic-Walking are becoming increasingly popular in St. Anton am Arlberg and the surrounding areas. Both these sports combine nature, movement and sport, in a unique manner. Arlberg offers 40 km long tracks for cross-country skiers and numerous tracks and courses for Nordic-Walking.
Beginners or cross-country enthusiasts who want to improve their technique are shown how it’s done at the Arlberg ski school or at the St. Anton ski school.

Of course there is a lot more to enjoy on your winter holiday in the Tyrol. What would it be like for example to have a frolicsome toboggan ride with friends, an idyllic winter walk or a horse-drawn carriage ride through snow-covered forests and meadows; or even try your hand at curling or ice skating.


It doesn’t have to be sport all the time; a visit to the ski museum and museum of local history or the event centre provide a necessary change of scenery in your winter holiday in the Tyrol.
